Manchester City officials have been sent to monitor Croatian duo Anton Matković and Nikola Čavlina, with competition from Premier League and Serie A clubs. This is part of Manchester City’s summer transfer window scouting mission, with a busy market expected for the Etihad Stadium bosses. They have been monitoring talent globally, including in the Danish Superliga, FC Porto, and an international match between Hungary and Kosovo.
The Croatian youngsters have also caught the attention of Inter Milan, but Manchester City, along with Newcastle, have sent officials to watch them in action. Matković’s agent, also representing a Manchester City player, may give the Premier League champions an edge in acquiring the young talent. Despite Lokomotiva Zagreb’s 3-1 loss to Osijek, Matković impressed with a brace, while Čavlina, the goalkeeper, prevented a heavier scoreline.
It is unclear whether Matković and Čavlina are specifically targeted by Manchester City, or if they are part of the City Football Group’s pursuit of European dominance. Manchester City’s scouting efforts highlight their commitment to building a strong squad and securing promising talent for the future.
