Josko Gvardiol, who joined Manchester City last summer for £77m, has reportedly been in contact with RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo about a potential move to the Etihad Stadium. Olmo, who has a release clause of £51m, has been linked with City as Leipzig expects him to leave and are looking at potential replacements. Gvardiol’s connection with Olmo, having played with him at Dinamo Zagreb, could boost City’s chances of securing a deal for the midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Olmo has been a key player for Leipzig since joining the club in 2020, scoring 29 goals and providing 34 assists in 148 appearances across all competitions. City’s interest in the Spaniard, coupled with Gvardiol reaching out to him, suggests that a move to Manchester could be on the cards for Olmo. While the club and Olmo’s representatives have not been approached yet, the midfielder’s potential transfer is one to watch as the summer transfer window approaches.
With City still competing for the Premier League and FA Cup titles, Gvardiol’s conversation with Olmo indicates that the club is already planning for the future and looking to strengthen the squad further. If Olmo does make the move to City, it could be a significant boost for Pep Guardiola’s team as they aim for more success in the upcoming seasons.
