Manchester City has confirmed that 14-year-old Cavan Sullivan, considered one of the best youth prospects in world football, will be joining the club in four years. Born in 2009 with Bangladeshi and German heritage, Sullivan joined the Philadelphia Union’s youth academy in 2020, helping them win the 2023 Generation Adidas Cup before making his professional debut in March 2024.

Philadelphia Union has signed Sullivan to the largest homegrown contract in the Major League Soccer’s history, with an agreement to transfer him to Manchester City once he turns 18. Sullivan cited the collaboration between the Union and the City Group as a key factor in his decision to sign with his hometown club, expressing his excitement at the prospect of playing for the Premier League champions in the future.

Despite the possibility of moving to Europe as early as 16, Sullivan is currently not permitted to play in England due to restrictions. With eligibility to represent Bangladesh, Germany, the United States, and England, Sullivan has already showcased his talent internationally by helping the United States boys’ national under-15 soccer team win the 2023 CONCACAF Boys’ Under-15 Championship.
