Three editions of Manchester City’s upcoming kits were leaked by a TikTok user, causing a stir among supporters. The home kit was close to reality, while the away kit was a copy of the 1999 play-off final jersey. The third kit was rumored to be maroon with gold features, but all three releases were ultimately found to be fake.
Footy Headlines confirmed that the leaked kits were either fake, based on concepts, or predictions by kit designers. Puma mistakenly released the home kit on their official online store in China, revealing a sky blue shirt with navy trims, white features, and a tribute to Greater Manchester.
Puma’s decision to include the Greater Manchester dialling code 0161 on the new kits sparked controversy among Manchester City fans. Despite the initial excitement caused by the leaked kits, it was ultimately determined that they were not accurate representations of the upcoming season’s jerseys.
