Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig and Spain star Dani Olmo this summer to strengthen their midfield, following the potential departure of Bernardo Silva. The €60 million release clause of Olmo has attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham, although the player reportedly prefers a move to the Etihad Stadium over a transfer to Barcelona.
Manchester City have a history of signing players from the Bundesliga, with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Erling Haaland, and Josko Gvardiol making the switch from Germany to Manchester. Olmo’s agent has reportedly met with Manchester City officials recently, indicating the club’s strong interest in bringing the versatile midfielder to the Etihad Stadium. The player’s contract with RB Leipzig runs until 2027, but a move to Manchester City seems to be on the cards.
In addition to Olmo, Manchester City are also considering other midfield options such as Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich, as well as Brazilian duo Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes. The club is actively looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, with discussions already taking place with the agents of potential transfer targets like Olmo.
