Manchester City is reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala and are planning a ‘big push’ for the player in the upcoming summer transfer window. City is looking to strengthen their midfield as uncertainty surrounds the futures of current players, including Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, who has previously rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia.
The Etihad Stadium bosses have identified Musiala as a top target to enhance Pep Guardiola’s team in the attacking midfield position. The 21-year-old has impressed since joining Bayern Munich and City are said to be ‘at the front of the queue’ to secure his signature, ahead of competition from former club Chelsea who are also monitoring the situation.
Additionally, Manchester City could also reconsider their interest in West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta if the midfielder’s Football Association investigation in gambling allegations is dropped before the end of the summer transfer window. City had previously been keen on signing Paqueta last summer but had to look for other options due to the investigation, ultimately securing the services of Matheus Nunes from Wolves. Other potential transfer targets for City include Bayern Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, though the talented attacking midfielder is expected to stay with his current club.
