Manchester City have shown interest in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, but they face competition from Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are reportedly more serious about signing Eze and have invited members of his family to a match as special guests. Eze, who was born in Greenwich, London, is said to prefer a move to Spurs due to family ties. The player is likely to cost around £55 million, which should not be an issue for Spurs given their summer budget.
While City may have interest in Eze, it seems like Spurs are in a better position to sign the talented midfielder. Eze has thrived at Crystal Palace and could become a top attacking midfielder in the Premier League with better players around him. City may have more need for Eze’s teammate Michael Olise, who has been linked as a potential replacement for Bernardo Silva.
City may face difficulty in signing Eze if he prefers a move to Spurs. While Pep Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain may want him, Spurs seem to have an advantage in the race for his signature. Eze’s potential move to Spurs could be a statement signing for the club as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
