A group of Manchester City supporters has expressed outrage over the price increase of season tickets for the 2024/25 season, with prices in the South Stand region of the Etihad Stadium set to rise by 24.2%. The fan group ‘The 1894 Group’ protested against the club’s decision, but their banner was removed from the stadium prior to a recent home game.
Despite expressing concerns over ticket pricing, Manchester City confirmed that they would not be changing their approach for the upcoming season. City Matters, a group representing supporters, proposed alternative ways for the club to ease the financial burden on fans, but the club stated that they would not be altering concessionary pricing as well. The next home game for Manchester City will be against Wolverhampton Wanderers early next month.
The handling of season ticket prices by Manchester City has caused backlash among loyal fans, with supporters feeling exploited by the club despite record profits. The club’s decision not to alter their pricing approach for the 2024/25 season has disappointed many fans, who have voiced their concerns through various channels and protests at recent games. Despite these issues, the loyal fanbase continues to support the team in their pursuit of a fourth successive Premier League crown.
