In a recent interview, former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas selected Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne in his all-time Premier League XI. Fabregas couldn’t decide between De Bruyne and David Silva for the right-wing spot, eventually settling on De Bruyne due to his significant contributions to City and the Premier League. Walker, who has won numerous titles with City since joining in 2017, was Fabregas’s choice for the right-back position.
De Bruyne has had a more influential career than Walker, with 101 goals and 166 assists to his name in addition to winning 15 major honours. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of the Premier League era, it is no surprise that Fabregas wanted to include him in his all-time XI. While Walker has committed his future to City, there is uncertainty surrounding De Bruyne’s future with his contract running out soon, leading to speculation of offers from Saudi Arabia.
In addition to Walker and De Bruyne, Fabregas’s All-Time XI also includes David Seaman in goal, Ashley Cole, John Terry, and Rio Ferdinand in defense, and Cristiano Ronaldo, Steven Gerrard, Patrick Vieira, and either De Bruyne or Silva in midfield. Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba were named as the front two in Fabregas’s lineup. Fabregas’s selections reflect the exceptional talent and success of players he has witnessed throughout his career in the Premier League.
