Manchester City sold forward Cole Palmer to Chelsea last summer after concerns over his game time under Pep Guardiola. The £42 million transfer did not include a sell-on clause, but did have add-ons based on Chelsea’s success in the Champions League and Premier League.
Despite City not having a sell-on clause, they do have ‘some’ add-ons included in the agreement, which could see them earn additional funds through Palmer’s success at Stamford Bridge. The 21-year-old forward has been a standout player for Chelsea, with impressive performances earning him a senior England international debut.
Palmer’s success at Chelsea has exceeded expectations, with 25 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances this season. Manchester City are now closely monitoring his progress and potential earnings, with the hope that their add-ons from the transfer deal will come to fruition. Despite not having a sell-on clause, City could still benefit from Palmer’s rise in the future.
