Manchester City had previously shown interest in left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, with reports indicating talks between Etihad Stadium officials and Wolverhampton Wanderers for a possible summer move. The possibility of a player-plus-cash swap deal involving Sergio Gomez was also discussed, with Ait-Nouri valued at £60 million by Wolves.
Despite the recent media reports linking Manchester City to Ait-Nouri, insiders suggest that the club had dismissed any interest in the defender prior to his move to Wolves.
