Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is rumored to be leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer. The 29-year-old recently scored the winning goal against Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final, adding to his successful season with 12 goals in total. Silva has been a key player for Manchester City since joining from AS Monaco in 2017, scoring a total of 67 goals and winning 15 trophies.
Despite signing a contract extension with Manchester City in September, Silva’s future with the club has been thrown into doubt with the activation of his £50 million release clause. Reports suggest that Silva has decided to leave the club at the end of the season, attracting interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid and the Saudi Pro League have also been linked as potential destinations for the talented midfielder.
As Manchester City still have seven matches remaining this season, Silva’s potential departure could mark the end of his long-term career in east Manchester. With interest from top European clubs, Silva’s transfer saga is expected to play out in the coming months, with the possibility of joining a new team ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
