Manchester City’s captain and England international, Kyle Walker, has hinted at a potential future transfer to Saudi Arabian football in a recent interview.

The 33-year-old full-back’s future at Manchester City has been uncertain, especially after a close call with a move to Bayern Munich last summer.

Despite this, both Pep Guardiola and Manchester City managed to convince Walker to stay, and he was even appointed as the new captain after Ilkay Gundogan’s departure to Barcelona.

Despite signing a contract extension, doubts persist about Walker’s long-term future at Manchester City, and he has not ruled out the possibility of playing in Saudi Arabia.

In a recent appearance on the FIVE podcast, Walker acknowledged the financial incentives of playing in Saudi Arabia but emphasized his belief that the Premier League is the best league in the world.

“I’ll never say never,” Walker responded. “The money that they’re paying and everything is obviously a massive factor in why they’re going out there. (Cristiano) Ronaldo opened the pathway for everyone to go there.”

“If they keep attracting the player they’re attracting the league will get better so why wouldn’t you want to go?

“But for me the Premier League is the best league in the world so I want to compete in this league for as long as possible and as high as possible.”

While Walker remains committed to competing in the Premier League, Manchester City may face a decision regarding their right-back position in the upcoming transfer window.

One of their talented prospects, Yan Couto, has been performing well on loan at Girona and has earned international caps for Brazil. City must decide whether to keep Couto or potentially loan him out again, with some reports linking Real Madrid to the player.

With uncertainties surrounding Walker’s future and potential changes in the right-back position, Manchester City will have important decisions to make in the coming months.

As the club continues to compete at the highest level, they will need to carefully consider their options to maintain their competitiveness in the Premier League and beyond.
