The reason for Rodri’s recent absence from Spain training has been revealed ahead of an international friendly on Tuesday evening.

Spain will host Brazil in an international friendly at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday evening, with Rodri and Manchester City set to travel to the same stadium next month for a UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash.

Rodri, a key player for Manchester City, is among several players Pep Guardiola will be keeping an eye on this week. With City facing Arsenal in a crucial Premier League match on Sunday, they are already facing the possibility of being without three major players.

Manchester City has a packed schedule ahead, with 10 matches to play before the end of April as they aim to defend last season’s historic treble. They have important fixtures lined up in the Premier League, Champions League, and Emirates FA Cup.

Kyle Walker is a doubt for fitness after a suspected hamstring injury while playing for England at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson have also missed international duty due to muscular injuries.

Jack Grealish was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad due to fitness issues, adding to Manchester City’s concerns. Guardiola is also keeping an eye on the fitness of Erling Haaland and Matheus Nunes, who both picked up injuries during training sessions.

The worries regarding Rodri’s absence from Spain training have been resolved, providing a boost for Manchester City fans ahead of important matches. According to regional outlet Mundo Deportivo, Rodri missed training due to a family member’s illness, with no current fitness concerns for the midfielder.

Rodri has been a key player for Manchester City this season, starting in 37 matches so far. He is crucial to Guardiola’s midfield set-up and will play a significant role in the team’s pursuit of silverware.

However, upon returning from international duty, Rodri faces potential disciplinary issues as he is just two yellow cards away from a two-match Premier League ban, with four matches left until the reset.

City will play three Premier League matches before their clash with Real Madrid, facing Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace before taking on Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
