According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has successfully signed Everton youth full-back Jayden Lienou, beating out competition from two other top English clubs.

This marks the second youth left-back signing for Manchester City in a short period, as reports suggest progress in their pursuit of England’s youth international Christian McFarlane from New York City FC.

Manchester City remains dedicated to scouting and developing young talent from around the world through their City Football Group portfolio, continually seeking the next best names in football.

This season has seen many promising players sent out on season-long loans to aid in their development, including Yan Couto and Savio at Girona.

Now, Manchester City has signed Everton’s youth talent, integrating him into their Academy system with hopes of eventually promoting him to the first-team squad.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City has finalized all documents to bring in 15-year-old Welsh left-back Jayden Lienou from Everton.

Romano further details that Lienou is part of City’s long-term strategy to sign the best talents in the game, surpassing two other English top clubs in the process.

Recent reports suggest that Manchester City is also monitoring Everton’s first-team player Jarrad Branthwaite with interest, with the 21-year-old defender attracting attention across Europe.

City fans will recall the successful signing of John Stones from Everton in 2016, a deal that proved to be excellent business during Pep Guardiola’s early tenure at the club.
