Premier League champions Manchester City have reportedly been evaluating the performance of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, one of Europe’s brightest talents, during a recent UEFA Champions League match. This assessment comes shortly after the signings of Belgian international forward Jeremy Doku and City Football Group talent Savio.
Doku, who joined Manchester City seven months ago, has had a mixed start in the team, showing promise with goals and assists in the first half of the season but facing challenges with decision-making in recent weeks. The team has been dealing with injuries to Jack Grealish, leaving them in need of more options on the wings, which has led to interest in Kvaratskhelia.
A scout representing Manchester City reportedly watched Kvaratskhelia play for Napoli against Barcelona in the Champions League, indicating the club’s ongoing interest in the player since his move from Dinamo Batumi in 2022. Liverpool and Newcastle are also said to be admirers of the Georgia international.
Kvaratskhelia had a standout season with Napoli in 2022/23 but has seen a drop in his goal contributions this season, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances. In the previous season, he scored 14 goals and assisted 17 others in 43 appearances, attracting attention from clubs across Europe.
Despite interest from other clubs, Napoli may be reluctant to sell Kvaratskhelia this summer, especially with their focus on keeping Victor Osimhen. The player’s future remains uncertain as Manchester City and other clubs monitor his progress and potential availability in the upcoming transfer window.
