Etihad Stadium officials have reportedly been given a signal by Bayern Munich that they could potentially secure Joshua Kimmich this summer if the right offer is made. Manchester City is looking to strengthen their midfield and may explore new signings in the upcoming transfer window to address concerns over various positions and potential personnel changes.
The club is in need of a reliable back-up for defensive midfielder Rodrigo and may also need to replace Bernardo Silva in more advanced midfield roles. One player that City is considering is Joshua Kimmich, a talent well-known to former Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola. Kimmich is facing uncertainty over his future at Allianz Arena, making him a possible target for the English club.
According to a report by Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich is willing to sell Kimmich this summer if the right offer comes in. The player himself is open to discussions with potential buyers, including Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. However, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are not being considered as potential destinations for Kimmich.
In addition to Kimmich, Manchester City has been linked to other players such as West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta. A previous deal for Paqueta was put on hold due to an FA investigation into gambling allegations, but City could revisit the possibility of signing him in the future. Kalvin Phillips, currently on loan at West Ham, could also be involved in a potential deal for Paqueta.
Overall, City is looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and is considering various options, including Joshua Kimmich and Lucas Paqueta. The club will continue to monitor the transfer market for new signings to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
