The City Group and Manchester City continue their search for top prospects in South America, with a new name in the spotlight this week.
Recent reports have shown City Group’s interest in 2003-born Uruguay international talent Luciano Rodriguez, with competition from Feyenoord. It is rumored that City Group officials are in Buenos Aires finalizing an agreement, with a limit of $15 million for a portion of his rights.
Manchester City is also looking into another young talent, with rumors from Brazil linking them to midfielder Lorran from Flamengo. Lorran, just 17 years old, has a reported release clause of €50 million and is represented by Roc Nation.
In addition to City, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are said to be interested in Lorran, with Manchester City evaluating a proposal. Manchester City has a history of acquiring Brazilian talents from South America, with Savio being the latest addition set to join the club this summer.
Savio, who recently made his Brazil international debut, is expected to impress Pep Guardiola during pre-season. Another player to watch is Yan Couto, currently on loan with Savio at Girona, seen as a potential successor to Kyle Walker at Etihad.
