Saudi Pro League clubs are eyeing a summer move for Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, with sources indicating a transfer fee exceeding £100 million. De Bruyne, 32, is set to be out of contract at Etihad Stadium in 2025, making him a target for Saudi clubs aiming to bolster their league’s appeal through high-profile signings.

City has previously engaged in transfer dealings with Saudi clubs, as seen with Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte departing last summer for a combined fee of £55 million. The Saudi clubs are reportedly willing to pay a hefty transfer fee and offer De Bruyne a lucrative contract to entice him to the Middle East.

De Bruyne, City’s longest-serving player, joined the club in 2015 from Wolfsburg for a then-club record fee of £54 million. Since then, he has accumulated an impressive array of titles with City, including five league titles and a Champions League victory. The Belgian playmaker has made 369 appearances across all competitions for City, scoring 98 goals and providing 165 assists.

Liverpool has also set a £100 million-plus price tag on Mohamed Salah amidst interest from Saudi Arabia. As the transfer window approaches, elite clubs are bracing for substantial bids for their star players. In the midst of escalating transfer speculations, the landscape of top-tier European football looks set to undergo significant changes in the upcoming season.
