Manchester City is one of the five clubs that have the opportunity to sign Joshua Kimmich in the summer of 2024. The Bayern Munich player’s future has become a hot topic in transfer discussions, especially as his contract with the German club expires in 2025. Kimmich, known for his versatility in being able to play both at right-back and in midfield, has attracted interest from top clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
There were reports that City were pessimistic about their chances of signing Kimmich, despite the player’s interest in reuniting with former manager Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. One potential scenario for City to secure Kimmich’s signature could involve offering defender Kyle Walker in a swap deal. The 29-year-old has reportedly ruled out moves to Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, making City a viable destination for him.
Kimmich, who was considered one of the best right-backs in the world before transitioning to central midfield, has continued to impress with his performances for Bayern. Given his age and versatility, he could be a valuable addition to City’s squad. The negotiations for Kimmich’s potential transfer are expected to intensify as the summer approaches, making him a sought-after target for several top clubs in Europe.
