Jamie Carragher has suggested that Manchester City has a player who is better than Harry Kane, and it’s not Erling Haaland. While Haaland and Kane have been considered among the best strikers in the world, Kane has been in better form recently, scoring 37 goals for Bayern Munich compared to Haaland’s 29 goals. With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo nearing the end of their careers, Haaland and Kane have stood out with their impressive numbers.

Carragher specifically praised Phil Foden for his performance with England, stating that he played like he does for Manchester City. He believes Foden, along with Jude Bellingham, are among the best players for England and highlighted Foden’s ability to run at the defence and interchange with other midfielders. There has been a discussion about Foden’s role in the England squad, with suggestions that he should play centrally, but Carragher believes starting him on the left and allowing him to drift inside could be the best solution.

However, the success of this tactic would depend on the quality of the left-back, as they would have to cover the entire flank. With Luke Shaw injured, the solution may have a flaw in terms of defensive coverage. Despite this, Carragher sees Foden and Bellingham as key players for England and believes their combination play could be crucial for the team’s success.
