Reports suggest that Palmeiras star Raphael Veiga is interested in a move to European football, with Manchester City being mentioned as a potential destination.

The 28-year-old is currently contracted to the Brazilian club until 2026, but speculation about a move to Europe has been ongoing due to his impressive performances, which saw him score 18 goals and provide 16 assists last season.

Manchester City has had success in signing South American players in recent years, such as Julian Alvarez from River Plate, who quickly became an important player for Pep Guardiola’s team and the Argentina national team.

In a recent interview with AS, translated by Sport Witness, Raphael Veiga expressed his desire to play in Europe. He said, “I have the desire to play in Europe, but I’m also very happy to play for Palmeiras. I think any player dreams of competing with the best in the world on the Old Continent (Europe), and I am no exception.”

Veiga mentioned his admiration for teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United, expressing interest in experiencing the opportunities they offer.

Despite being linked to Barcelona in 2023 as a possible option to replace Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, no deal materialized for Veiga. Manchester City is reportedly considering changes to their attacking options, including a recent deal with Girona’s Savio and interests in West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta.

With the aging of Kevin De Bruyne and speculation around Bernardo Silva’s future at the club, Manchester City’s attacking lineup could see significant changes in the near future.
