Former footballer Gabby Agbonlahor has made his prediction for the upcoming Premier League match between Manchester City and Liverpool.
Following Manchester City’s 3-1 victory against Manchester United in their last league game, they now face another tough challenge as they travel to Anfield to take on title-chasing Liverpool.
Agbonlahor, in a recent video on talkSPORT’s official X account, shared his thoughts on the game. He acknowledged that if Liverpool had all their key players fit, he would have predicted a win for them.
He said: “If Liverpool had everyone fit, I would go for a Liverpool win. But with the injuries they’ve got, certain players coming back, [Mohamed] Salah, how fit will he be? We don’t know.
“Man City have had a chance to rest players this week in the Champions League, I can only see a Manchester City win.
“A tight game but the big players like [Phil] Foden, [Erling] Haaland and [Kevin] De Bruyne will come through. I’m going to go 2-1 to Manchester City.”
Currently, Liverpool leads the Premier League table by one point, with City in second place and Arsenal in third. The injuries plaguing Liverpool’s squad, which includes key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson Becker, could prove to be a significant factor in Sunday’s match.
Although Salah made a successful return from injury in their recent Europa League match, the absence of key players may hamper Liverpool’s performance against City.
With only Jack Grealish sidelined for City, Agbonlahor’s prediction of a City win is based on the relative fitness and form of the two teams.
A victory for City would be crucial in their pursuit of regaining the Premier League title. As the match approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating the outcome of this highly anticipated clash between two top contenders in the league.
