Kevin De Bruyne names Man City’s biggest title challengers

Kevin De Bruyne, a key player for City, believes that Liverpool and Arsenal are strong contenders for the title alongside City. He also mentioned Aston Villa and Tottenham as close competitors.

“There are so many teams there,” De Bruyne told Standard Sport. “Liverpool and Arsenal are there with us, but I’d say even [Aston] Villa and Tottenham are close.

“We will be fighting with five for the moment. There’s a little pressure anyway to do well, but there’s no point looking at what’s going to happen in two months.

“We need to win games now and try to enjoy it. We know what we need to do. The pressure is always there, but we’re ready to fight again until the end.”

As it stands, Liverpool appears to be City’s biggest threat with their consistent form despite losing key players to international tournaments. However, their recent loss to Arsenal indicates that the Gunners are also a formidable contender.

Known for their solid defensive foundation, having only conceded 22 goals, Arsenal’s victory has boosted their position in the title race.

Although Tottenham and Villa have shown impressive performances, it is uncertain if they can maintain the consistency to challenge the top three. However, the race for the title is still wide open, with City only set to meet Arsenal and Liverpool in March.
