Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne may lean towards a potential move to the United States over the Saudi Pro League as his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires next year. Last summer, the 32-year-old rejected a move to the Middle East, but Saudi Arabia is expected to make another attempt to acquire the Belgian international. Manchester City may be forced to engage in contract renewal discussions if enticing offers come in from Saudi Arabia.

Despite offering 33-year-old Kyle Walker a new deal, Manchester City let former captain Ilkay Gundogan leave for Barcelona on a free transfer. De Bruyne, who has been directly involved in 10 goals in 11 appearances this season, has had a significant impact since returning from a long injury layoff last month.

Although De Bruyne has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, reports suggest that he is intrigued by the opportunity to play in the United States. The idea of retiring in a more traditional manner, by moving to the MLS, has always been considered by the midfielder. With a young family and a long tenure at Manchester City, a move to the USA may be more appealing than one to Saudi Arabia.

During his time at the Etihad Stadium, De Bruyne has won 14 trophies, made 367 appearances, and scored 98 goals. Manchester City has shown a willingness to make tough decisions regarding senior players, as seen with Sergio Aguero not being offered a contract renewal in 2021.
