Manchester City is making a move to outmanoeuvre Real Madrid in the pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
According to a report by Defensa Central, the English giants are ready to battle it out with Real Madrid for the 25-year-old’s signature and are prepared to do everything in their power to secure his transfer.
Mbappe has reportedly informed PSG that he will not be signing a new deal with the club, leading to his impending departure at the end of the season.
While PSG had hoped to retain the World Cup winner, they have come to terms with the fact that he will be moving on to another club in the summer.
Real Madrid has long been linked with Mbappe and their interest in the forward remains despite the failed attempt to secure his transfer in the previous summer.
However, Manchester City is now looking to outbid Real Madrid and secure Mbappe’s services for themselves.
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is eager to add Mbappe to his squad in a bid to continue dominating European football.
The club is reportedly ready to offer Mbappe a higher salary than Real Madrid and make him the highest-paid player in the squad, surpassing the wages of Erling Haaland.
Additionally, Manchester City is willing to provide Mbappe with a significant signing bonus, comparable to the loyalty bonus he would have received by staying at PSG.
Despite City’s efforts, it is reported that playing for Real Madrid has been Mbappe’s dream. Therefore, it remains to be seen where he will choose to play next season.
Recent reports have indicated that representatives of Mbappe have been in contact with both Real Madrid and Manchester City as the player contemplates his future.
With both clubs vying for his signature, the decision will ultimately lie in Mbappe’s hands as he considers where his next footballing adventure will take him.
