Pep Guardiola and Manchester City will have to do without Jack Grealish for the next two to three weeks as he recovers from an injury sustained during the match against Copenhagen. Grealish, who recently made his return to action in the Champions League after being used as a substitute in recent matches, was forced off the pitch after just 21 minutes due to a muscular injury.
Despite his frustration and disappointment at this setback, Grealish’s manager has commended his determination to return to full form. The 28-year-old forward has had a difficult season personally, but his coach has been impressed by his efforts.
According to The Telegraph, Grealish is expected to be sidelined for the next two to three weeks, while the injury is not as severe as some muscular injuries. This means he could potentially return ahead of England’s upcoming matches against Brazil and Belgium in March.
In the Premier League, Grealish has made 14 appearances for Manchester City this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. His absence will be felt in the upcoming match against Chelsea, as well as in several other important fixtures, including an FA Cup fifth-round tie against Luton Town, Premier League meetings with Manchester United and Liverpool, and the second-leg of City’s UEFA Champions League last-16 tie against Copenhagen.
It is clear that Grealish’s injury is a setback for both him and Manchester City, but there is hope for a relatively quick recovery, giving him the chance to return to action before the end of the season.
