Manchester City has revealed their 21-man travelling squad for their UEFA Champions League match against FC Copenhagen. Pep Guardiola’s team will face the Danish club in a two-legged tie, following their encounters in the group stage in the previous season.
Last season, Manchester City had a 5-0 victory against Copenhagen at home but struggled in their meeting at Parken, being reduced to 10 men and held to a frustrating 0-0 draw. This season, Manchester City had a successful group stage, winning all six matches.
Despite their success, Copenhagen will be a tough opponent, having progressed from a group involving Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Galatasaray. Guardiola’s team is in high spirits with 10 consecutive wins in all competitions, including the FIFA Club World Cup and FA Cup ties.
Guardiola has now revealed his squad for the match, including goalkeepers Ederson, Stefan Ortega, and Scott Carson, defenders Rico Lewis, Kyle Walker, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Nathan Ake, midfielders Rodri, Jacob Wright, Mahamadou Susoho, Matheus Nunes, Kevin De Bruyne, and Bernardo Silva, and forwards Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Erling Haaland, and Julian Alvarez.
Mateo Kovacic will not play in the contest due to his absence from the weekend’s Premier League match against Everton and the final training session before the flight to Copenhagen. Josko Gvardiol and Sergio Gomez are also absent without further details provided by the club or Guardiola.
Manchester City looks forward to a challenging match against Copenhagen and hopes to secure a positive result in the first leg of the matchup.
