Radio presenter Sam Matterface has expressed concern about Jack Grealish’s potential exclusion from England’s Euro 2024 squad later this year.

Grealish has had a challenging season with Manchester City, marked by sporadic appearances, injuries, and illness, leading to a decline in his performance.

Matterface’s apprehension arises from Grealish’s lack of playing time and participation in recent games for City.

Matterface said: “(I’m) a bit worried about Jack Grealish. Because he’s been out of the picture for a little while. He might be in danger of being one of the odd men out as far as the Euros are concerned, unless he can get back in the team.

“But you know what Pep is like, he puts you on the bench for a little spell and then brings you back again and you have the headlines following you once again.”

He specifically noted Grealish’s minor role in the team’s recent Premier League fixtures and his absence from the FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur. Despite a 57-minute appearance against Huddersfield Town, Grealish’s place in City’s lineup remains uncertain.

Matterface’s apprehension is founded on the possibility of Grealish being overlooked for England’s Euro 2024 squad. He highlighted the uncertainty surrounding Grealish’s position due to his limited game time, delineating the influence of City’s manager, Pep
