Pep Guardiola recently expressed how Vincent Kompany’s high praise of Jeremy Doku proved to be accurate.

This revelation came after a series of impressive performances by the 21-year-old attacker since joining Manchester City.

Previously, former City player Andy Morrison had stated the challenges defenders face when trying to contain Doku.

Additionally, Tim Sherwood likened the Belgian international to Leroy Sane due to his speed and direct approach, further highlighting his growing reputation.

Following Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, Guardiola was impressed by Doku’s on-field decisions, praising the youngster’s exceptional ability in the final third.

This admiration, coupled with his promising debut season, has raised expectations for Doku’s potential starting role against Burnley in the upcoming Premier League fixture.

Guardiola revealed that Kompany’s endorsement of Doku’s talent before his £55 million move to Manchester City was, in fact, justified.

“Jeremy [Doku], we spoke, yeah and we saw a little bit and he [Vincent Kompany] was right. I think Vinnie has a big talent that [from] my point of view, every player have been with him is better. So, have the ability to, in collective issue to improve the way they play”, Guardiola said (via HaytersTV).

Doku’s previous association with Burnley manager, Vincent Kompany, dates back to their time at RSC Anderlecht.

A memorable training video surfaced showcasing their competitive spirit, providing further validation of Kompany’s firsthand knowledge of Doku’s capabilities.

Kompany’s positive feedback significantly benefited Manchester City, enabling them to secure the services of one of Europe’s most promising young talents.

As both Doku and Kompany are set to reunite at the Etihad Stadium, the homecoming is anticipated to be an emotional and significant occasion.

In conclusion, the evolution of Jeremy Doku as a potential game-changer highlights Vincent Kompany’s foresight while also reinforcing Manchester City’s recruitment strategy.

With the endorsement of key individuals like Kompany, City is poised to maintain its status as a top-tier club in the global football arena.
