Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are now ‘charging’ for Boca Juniors’ Valentin Barco.
The 19-year-old is rated as one of the top prospects in Argentinian football, with Barco a regular for the Buenos Aires giants, and he has also represented his country at U20 level.
The left-back has made a name for himself with Copa Libertadores runners-up Boca Juniors and could earn a move to the Premier League as a result.
For the past month or so, various claims from Argentina have named Manchester City as one of the contenders to sign Boca Juniors’ Valentín Barco.
Now, according to Argentina newspaper Diario RN as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City are now the main candidate to sign Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors.
RN believe Boca Juniors are now resigned to losing the 19-year-old especially with Pep Guardiola’s side ‘charging’ for him.
The report adds he has a clause of less than €10m and the South American club’s board of directors are ‘looking for a direct sale so that the income is higher’.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
@chanomcfc: “Thought it was done?”
@elderMCFC: “Heard that for the last 4 months”
@constertine: “That Word “charging” always scare me”
@diasclass: “We should be “aggressively wallking” for Boca Juniors’ Valentin Barco.”
@mcfcerenfan125: “Get him in”
@Andrew18: “Get him ASAP. He’ll become better at our academy”
