Report: Man City among sides to send ‘representatives’ to watch ‘special’ 22y/o attacker

It has been reported that Manchester City were in attendance to watch Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in action during Georgia’s 3-1 loss to Spain.

The £75m-rated Georgian came into the limelight on the back of his impressive debut campaign last season. He played a huge role in ending Napoli’s drought for the Serie A title.

While the team hasn’t been able to reproduce what they did last season, the 22-year-old has still done his bit. And, his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

Branded as “special” by Jamie Carragher (via CBS Sports Golazo), the Napoli star was scouted by multiple Premier League clubs this international break.

As reported by 90min, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle all sent scouts to follow Kvaratskhelia during Georgia’s 3-1 loss to Spain on Sunday evening, keeping a close eye on the Napoli star.

Other top clubs around Europe are also interested in making a move for the 22-year-old next summer, including Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

City’s scouts would likely have been impressed with what they saw from the 22-year-old as he scored his country’s only goal of the game against a talented Spanish team.

While all these clubs are keen on his signatures and they have been scouting him, Napoli are unlikely to let him leave anytime soon.

As things stand, Kvaratskhelia’s contract expires in 2027 and the report claims that he is in talks to further extend his deal by a year at Napoli.
