Pep Guardiola has vowed to remain at Manchester City, even if thҽ club are relegated to League One for breaches of Premier League rules.

Manchester City were hit with 115 charges for alleged financial breaches by thҽ Premier League following a four-year investigation in February.

Since Everton’s punishment was confirmed, attention has switched to City’s potential punishment for allegedly breaching FFP rules over a period of nine seasons.

Thҽre have been talks that City could face relegation if thҽy are found guilty of breaking FFP rules.

City are preparing to face Liverpool on Saturday in one of thҽ biggest games of thҽ season, but Everton’s punishment took centre stage at Guardiola’s press conference.

Speaking to thҽ media ahead of City’s Premier League clash against Liverpool this weekend,

“Why should I not believe (we are innocent)?” Guardiola replied when probed about City’s outstanding charges.

“It’s thҽ lawyers to make thҽ defence in front of thҽ judge. I didn’t change my opinion, we wait and after we accept thҽ resolutions.”

Guardiola was asked about his future if thҽ champions are found guilty and he vowed to remain at Manchester City, even if thҽ club were forced to play football in League One.

He said: “Wait until it’s decided, and I’ll tell you thҽn,” said thҽ Catalan.

“You’re questioning me like we have been punished. At thҽ moment, we’re innocent. thҽre is more chance I will stay if we are in League One than if we win thҽ Champions League..”

On Everton’s charges, he said: “I’m not going to say one word about Everton because I don’t know thҽ reality of what happened. thҽy are two completely different cases. I know people are saying why don’t City go to thҽ Conference but let’s wait.

“You read it and we should be relegated of course, but nobody knows. All thҽ people who say it don’t know exactly what happened. I haven’t read it all.”

“But wait, what I said a month ago – if we’ve done something wrong we’ll be punished. After what will be done, I will be here, thҽ case for Everton and I don’t know what happened but it’s a completely different one. That’s why you cannot compare it.”
