Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb has received his first call up to the senior Norway squad – and Pep Guardiola gave an hilarious reaction to the news.
On September 2nd, Oscar Bobb made his first team debut for Manchester City when he came off the bench in their 5-1 victory over Fulham.
Since then, the 20-year-old has made four more appearances, including one start in the Citizens’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup.
His recent performances have helped him earn a first call-up from Norway for this month’s international break.
After his press conference ahead of the Champions League game with RB Leipzig, Pep was asked by Norwegian broadcaster TV2 Sport about Bobb.
Pep is absolutely delighted for Bobb, but joked: “My reaction? I said to him ‘You have to bring a bottle of wine to you manager, me, not Solbakken.”
“I helped you to be there!’ Jokes aside, very pleased for him. (It’s the) next step and hopefully Solbakken can realise how good a player he is and what a good lad he is.
“It’s good, he’ll play with Erling, with Odegaard and all the big players Norway has so that’s good for him. Really, really pleased for him.”
