Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is set to be assessed by the club ahead of this weekend’s match with Nottingham Forest.
Bernardo was substituted off in City’s 3-1 Champions League win over Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday night before half-time as Jeremy Doku took his place.
Boss Pep Guardiola told the media Bernardo would miss the “next games” but admitted he hadn’t spoken to his medical team about it.
He said: “I didn’t speak with the doctors but apparently for the next games he will not be able to play. When we have five important players – really, really important players – injured, to sustain that for a long time will be difficult. But it is what it is.”
With that said, the Portuguese will be looked over to determine the extent of his injury amid “early hopes” over the injury. According to our sister title Manchester Evening News, there are “early indications” that the injury is not as serious as first feared and he may not be out long at all.
City are already without quartet Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Mateo Kovacic, who are doubts to face Forest at the Etihad on Saturday (3pm).
