Manchester City now monitoring Leeds teenager who’s gone viral on social media – report

Manchester City are keeping tabs on Leeds United wonderkid Finley Gorman but must fight Manchester United to sign him, according to reports.

The 14-year-old winger is highly-rated at Thorp Arch, and he has been making a name for himself with the academy of the Championship side.

Known for his dribbling ability and skill on the ball, Gorman regularly plays for age groups much higher than his age, and he recently scored twice for the Whites’ U18 side in a dominant win against Stoke City.

Gorman, who plays more regularly with the U16s, has also represented England at youth level, so he is seen as someone with a bright future in the game.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Gorman’s potential has attracted attention from clubs across the country.

The Daily Mail reports that both Manchester United and Manchester City both have their eye on Gorman. And they are not the only sides monitoring his progress.

Of course, it is too soon to confidently say what the future holds for Gorman. But it is frightening that he is already making an impact at under-18 level. He will surely hope to feature a few more times over the course of the campaign.

Rising Ballers, a Twitter account dedicated to spotting young talent, posted a compilation video of Gorman in action for Leeds last week, which went viral and knocked up over 5.8 million views.

They posted the following caption with their clip: ’14 year-old Leeds United and England youth international Finlay Gorman is a name to remember.

‘Playing up with the U16 and U18s… He’s bagged 20 G+A (goals and assists) in just nine games so far this season.’
