Pep Guardiola laughed when asked about Manchester United’s start to the 2023-24 campaign during a recent press conference.
It only took a small gesture, but Pep Guardiola was not able to hold back his true feelings about Manchester United in a press conference earlier today.
Speaking ahead of his team’s debut in the UEFA Champions League, Guardiola was speaking about how some of their main rivals in the Premier League were showing improvement, specifically referring to Arsenal and Liverpool. Then, the journalist asked him about Manchester United, and the Spaniard was not able to hold back a sarcastic smile.
Once he realized how his answer would be taken, the former Barcelona boss tried to explain how the Red Devils and Chelsea might take more time to show their best form, but it was too late for him to prevent his reaction from going viral.
Have a look at Guardiola’s reaction to a question about his Premier League neighbors.

The City boss then says: ‘Well they didn’t start like they expected, like Chelsea. But always, they are Man United, and Chelsea sooner or later they will take the rhythm.’
‘But it is important for us, after winning the treble, [winning] five from five is really, really good.’
United’s recent 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton has sparked suggestions that the club are in disarray, amid the off-field issues surrounding Antony and Jadon Sancho.
Red Devils fans will be hoping their side can turn their fortunes around when they take on German champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Manchester City will start their title defense against Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday evening.
