Manchester City travel to Turf Moor as they face newly-promoted Burnley in the opening game of the Premier League season on Friday night.
Burnley will be thrown straight into the deep end as they play the reigning champions and Vincent Kompany will come face to face with his former club for the second time as a manager, after facing Pep Guardiola in the FA Cup last season.
It is bound to be a tough challenge for Kompany’s side, but it will be interesting to see how they hold up and whether they can bring their success from last year into the top-flight. Here’s all the information you need ahead of the encounter.
When is Burnley vs Man City?
The much-anticipated first game of the season will kick off at 8:00pm on Friday night.
The last time these teams met, City smashed Burnley 6-0 in the quarter finals of the FA Cup last season and Erling Haaland punished the team with a hat-trick.
Since their promotion they have taken advantage of the transfer window adding new talent to their squad including City youngster and England U21s goalkeeper James Trafford.
How to watch
Man City’s outing at Turf Moor will be shown on Sky Sports with the coverage of Friday Night Football starting at 7:00pm. Kick-off is at 8pm.
