Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have ruled out Barcelona’s Raphinha or RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo as candidates to replace Riyad Mahrez at the club this summer.
Sky Sports have already confirmed that the Algerian’s £30 million move to Al-Ahli is on the verge of completion, with Mahrez due for his medical in the next few days.
City are expected to replace the outgoing Algerian international with a new signing, as Pep Guardiola prepares to lose a forward who has scored 78 goals during his five-years at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City have recently been linked with a move for RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo, Barcelona’s Raphinha and Lyon’s Rayan Cherki if Riyad Mahrez leaves the club this summer.
However, it’s been reported that two of the recently reported candidates are not being considered by Etihad transfer chiefs.
That’s according to City Xtra that claims Manchester City have no chance of signing either Barcelona’s Raphinha or RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo as Riyad Mahrez moves closer to his Saudi switch.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@najibpriv: “Who are we signing then?”
@MCFC_Antoine9: “Wow it’s almost like selling Mahrez will be a monumental mistake because we have no clue who to sign”
@RicoLewis_ERA: “Both average players we don’t care.”
@FinallyManfred: “Thankfully because both are mid.”
@west_jr_7: “They are mid players anyway.”
@jrlt89: “Don’t want Raphinha. Don’t want Olmo. I want RAYAN CHERKI from Lyon.”
@slxvxid: “Sign Mbappe.”
@SigxaxaXolani: “We want Mbappe!!!.”
