‘Finally’, ‘We need a winger with pace’ – Man City fans react as club now working on signing Riyad Mahrez replacement

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are now working on signing Riyad Mahrez replacement.

City have already lost one high-profile star this summer in Ilkay Gundogan. And there is potential for the club to lose another in Mahrez, with Al Ahli looking to take him to the Saudi Pro League.

As per recent reports, he has already agreed terms with the Saudi outfit. It is said to be worth £43 million plus bonuses over a two-year contract.

According to Sam Lee of The Athletic, Manchester City are stepping up plans to sign a winger as Mahrez edges closer to a £30m move to Al Ahly.

Football Insider also reports that the Man City recruitment team are now working on replacements for the Algeria international.

It is believed Man City were desperate to keep Mahrez at the Etihad Stadium – meaning his exit will now come as a massive blow to Guardiola and his treble-winning squad.

As per the report, City boss Pep Guardiola will be given the funds needed to replace the 32-year-old this summer.
