Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Aymeric Laporte.
Laporte is thought to be available for transfer this summer as he wants to be playing week in, week out, rather than having to sit on the bench under Pep Guardiola.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from Manchester City this summer and he was recently linked with Tottenham Hotspur as well.
According to Rudy Galetti via GIVEMESPORT, Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are now actively trying to sign the Manchester City central.
While Galetti has said that no talks are going on between Chelsea and treble-winners City, that the Blues have asked for information about the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) Spain international central defender shows that they are really keen on him.
Galetti said: “Aymeric Laporte is among the names on the list of Chelsea as a possible reinforcement this summer.
“No talks are ongoing to date. Chelsea’s aim is to strengthen other roles but, in the past weeks, the Blues requested info on him.”
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@KevinDeHaaland: “Won’t happen. Laporte said he’d like to go back to Spain if he leaves”
@MichaelLofthou5: “Got to be honest. I can’t see any player leaving City for another PL club after last season, why would you if the club are not pushing you out!!!”
@Owaiskhan072: “Keep him or ship him overseas. No more transfers to direct rivals”
@CraigCassells69: “Not happening”
@l_arana19: “We already know they won’t sell to premier League rivals”
@kdbruyne_17: “We need to stop giving rivals our players”
