Manchester City defender Kyle Walker wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium despite speculation linking him with Bayern Munich.
Bayern have been linked with a £15 million ($19m) transfer for the 33-year-old, who has been a mainstay for club and country since his 2017 move from Tottenham to City, winning five Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola.
It was claimed Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel was very keen to add Walker to his side’s ranks, with the ex-Spurs and Sheffield United star reportedly frustrated after being left out of Guardiola’s line-up for the Champions League final win over Inter. His City contract has one more year to run.
A new report from Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports has indicated that Walker actually wants to stay at the home of the treble winners, and sign a new deal with Manchester City, should that be possible.
In a detailed report this week, Dorsett explains, “My understanding is Kyle Walker wants to stay at Manchester City, and he wants to sign an extension to his contract if possible. That’s his preferred option.
“He absolutely loves it at Manchester City. They’ve just won the treble, why would he want to leave? That’s basically the way it’s been described to me, and I would be staggered if Kyle Walker became a Bayern Munich player for next season.”

Despite an apparent intention to stay put at the Etihad Stadium, Rob Dorsett does make it clear that Bayern Munich want the England star.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
@DaBlueny: “Great news if true. Kyle should end his career at Man City 🙏”
@amir7iqbal_amir: “It’s was obvious that he didn’t want to be anywhere but here, he loves this club. Can’t believe people genuinely thought he was gonna leave.”
@GodfreyKQuan: “Kyle must stay!”
@justperfectxxx: “We really need him”
@ReckersLive: “Kyle needs to retire at City, and become a coach. His mindset is ELITE!”
@Mo_Aziz17: “2 years contract please”
@blegg2: “Of all rumored, Walker & Gundo most important to keep. Walker is the only defender w/ blistering pace! When faced fast wingers, he could track back & stop the counter. Walker did not start vs Inter bc they were slow, but tall upfront. Walker was crucial against Real & Vinicius Jr”
