Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Paris Saint-Germain wants to study the possibility of an exchange between Bernardo Silva and Neymar Jr.
As PSG aim to rebuild their attacking line, Silva’s name features prominently alongside the club’s pursuit of a new striker, with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen also on their wish-list.
With Lionel Messi’s departure on the horizon, PSG are reportedly looking for a dynamic playmaker up front. Le Parisien report that Bernardo Silva (28) has emerged as the number one target to replace Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, PSG have been working for a year to try and find a way out for Neymar. Luis Campos, an advisor to the French side, has been trying to conjure up formulas which make a departure possible.
According to Sport, PSG wants to study the possibility of an exchange between Bernardo Silva and Neymar Jr without having to pay a single euro.
Pep Guardiola’s side certainly don’t need Neymar, and wouldn’t want to pay his €30m a year salary. Even if the Brazilian agreed to a drastic wage cut, there’s the likelihood that City wouldn’t want the drama he can bring.
In addition to that, the 31-year-old has had repeated injuries in recent years, currently out of action after surgery on his ankle.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
Not happening.

@BrighterTigray: “No way Pep does this”
@StormFalcon657: “Why would we downgrade?”
@tiz_thoudam: “Bernardo is clear at this moment”
@razster7: “Massive downgrade for us”
@MCFC_Eyobelinho: “This sounds very promising, under Pep Neymar would be a top 3 player in the world again but can’t swap him with Silva”
@Komps4: “Nope. We want players that work here. No egos allowed.”
@jadzein12: “Sure only problem is Silva tracks back and defends”
@Nath_Godfrey: “I’ll put my hat on this, I think at present Bernardo Silva is a better player than Neymar and will continue to be a better player. Plus Silva isn’t constantly riddles with injuries and knocks. Should not and will not happen.”
@jparkes1991: “I won’t lie, I’d be interested in seeing Neymar in a Pep team. His game seems largely antithetical to our style but if Pep wants to work with him and the deal gets made, I’d give it a chance and see what happens. Can’t see it happening though.”
