Pep Guardiola has declared he has avoided being sacked during his managerial career because his teams ‘win a lot of games’, with 12 Premier League bosses having lost their jobs this season.

Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers became the latest Premier League managers to lose their jobs.

Potter was dismissed as Chelsea manager on Sunday after six months in charge, with the Blues languishing in 11th in the Premier League.

His sacking came hours after Rodgers four-year spell as Leicester boss came to an end with the Foxes lying in the relegation zone.

Guardiola was asked whether he has avoided being sacked during his managerial because he had chosen to leave clubs at the right time.

The Spaniard, who decided to step down from his previous jobs at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, responded claiming the success of his sides on the field were the reason he had avoided being sacked.

‘I will tell you a secret, we win games,’ Guardiola said.

‘If we don’t win games, I would be sacked.

‘It’s not because my hair is better than the other ones.

‘I’m not sacked because we win a lot of games.’
