Pep Guardiola appears to be at odds with Mikel Arteta after revealing he didn’t tune in to watch Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Manchester City manager claimed he hadn’t seen the controversial Andrew Robertson elbow incident as a stark contrast to Arteta emerged.
Speaking ahead of City’s Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, Guardiola admitted that he had been too busy assessing his side’s upcoming opponents to watch the incident involving Liverpool defender Robertson.
The Spaniard added that he had been watching golf, with the final day of The Masters, won by Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, taking place on Sunday.
However, Guardiola said he had since watched highlights, describing the incident as ‘weird’.
He said: “I hear it but I didn’t see it. I was watching Bayern Munich and golf. I saw highlights afterwards, but didn’t discuss it and see it.
“They told me something happened, but I didn’t see the image so I cannot comment. But it’s weird, when people said to me it happened, I said, ‘Wow, it’s happened?'”
