‘Going to make a mistake’: Pundit says ‘rash’ Arsenal player will slip up against Manchester City tonight

Pundit Nigel Reo-Coker has said that Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes could slip up against Manchester City on Wednesday night, in what is arguably the most important game in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City sit in second place at present, five points behind the current league leaders Arsenal but with two games in hand. The hosts on Wednesday night need wins in their games in hand to go one point above Arsenal and keep their chance of retaining the Premier League title well within reach, as well as the possibility of securing a treble this campaign.

Gabriel Magalhaes, who has largely been impressive this season has been called out by fans and pundits alike for having a mistake in him.

The Brazilian central defender is coming off the back of an underwhelming outing against City, as he lost Theo Walcott for his goal in his side’s 3-3 draw against Southampton.

In the recent 2-2 draw against West Ham United as well, the 25-year-old made a mistake by lunging into a tackle inside the box that gifted the opposition a penalty.

As Arsenal prepare to take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, pundit Nigel Reo-Coker does not have high hopes from Gabriel.

“I’ll say this now, if I was a captain still playing in this league, and in this game and had a decent striker, do you what I’d tell my striker?”, the CBS pundit said.

“Play on Gabriel. He is going to make a mistake, he is going to do something that will give you an opportunity.

“He will always make a mistake in 90 minutes or let someone in. Gabriel is still too rash, doesn’t play at a calm level, he’s still too emotionally involved every game he plays in.”
