Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are actively working to find out if a deal can be done with Arsenal for full-back Kieran Tierney.
The 25-year-old Scottish international has fallen down the pecking order at the North London club following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko and he needs to leave Arsenal in order to play regularly. He has started just five league games this season.
The Scotland international has impressed when called upon but Mikel Arteta demands a specific profile of full-back in his backline – a tactical set-up which, in fairness, has launched a title charge.
With Tierney out of favour in north London, he’s been heavily linked with an exit. According to Football Insider, Manchester City are prepared to provide him with an exit route at the end of the season.
It’s claimed Man City are ‘actively’ working on a deal for Tierney who ‘is open to a move’. Explaining why, his lack of minutes under Arteta in recent times is noted.
The Premier League giants have been using Nathan Ake as their left-back this season and Pep Guardiola needs to bring in a more specialist option.
The Scottish international has the potential to develop into a top-class Premier League full-back, and a move to Manchester City could unlock his potential.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.

@benkelly2525: “Big fan of him, especially if we get him fairly cheap”
@JMAR_03: “Keep him fit he’ll be a gem.”
@ngarehedwin: “Not a bad backup option for Ake.”
@PTDCity: “Get him for just £10m nothing more!”
@Laziboy: “Why would City want a player who can’t start ahead of someone we sold to them because he was at most a squad player?”
@ClaireMulcahy17: “Don’t do it txiki, listen to the fans we do not want him.”
@ian8229: “Never fit and I don’t rate him.”
@mcfcdavid_27: “Injury prone, and i dont really know how would he fit us, he is more of a walker at LB as in he is all defence and thats it, if he could play as a LCB in a 3 atb like Ake then he would be a good backup though for the right money.”
