Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League champions are set to see Julian Alvarez put pen to paper on a new contract next week.
The Argentina international returned to Eastlands a hero after his exploits in Qatar, transferring that form in a Sky Blue jersey when called upon by Pep Guardiola.
Alvarez has scored five goals in six league starts this season with the South American also bagging at least one in every cup competition, including the Champions League.
However, the starlet does have work to do for more starts ahead of in-form trio Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden – who all seem to be above him in Guardiola’s pecking order.
As such, reports have suggested he is ‘open’ to leaving City in the summer to get more game time. Despite the rumours, Julián Álvarez will stay at Manchester City without a doubt.
According to Fabrizio Romano this week, Julian Alvarez will sign a new deal with Manchester City next week, after the Argentine striker approved the final proposal from the Club.
It is further explained that Alvarez’s new deal will be valid until 2028, having been extended by a further year as part of the improved terms. Additionally, the 23 year-old will also receive a ‘significant’ pay rise following his great impact since joining City and his World Cup win.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
