Erling Haaland’s agent confirms plans are being made for Man City exit

The agent of Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has confirmed that there is a plan in place for him to move on from the club in the future.

Haaland has been a huge hit at Manchester City since signing from Borussia Dortmund on a contract that runs until 2027. However, there has already been talk of a future move to Real Madrid.

Manager Pep Guardiola has been forced to deny Haaland has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for the Santiago Bernabeu in 2024, but his agent Rafaela Pimenta has suggested most players would love to play for Los Blancos.

Pimenta said at the FT Business of Football summit in London that she likes to map out the careers of her clients in order to be organised.

“In my agency, we try to make a plan. We have to make a plan. We need to have a goal. Maybe we won’t achieve it but if we don’t know where we’re going for sure, we don’t get there. When we have a player, we almost make plans.”

Pimenta also spoke about Real Madrid, saying they have that European pedigree that is attractive for players, with many believing that Haaland still has a desire to play for the Spanish club.

“There is the Premier League. And there is Real Madrid. Real Madrid has something of its own that makes it the dreamland for the players. Madrid keeps this magic going. It doesn’t have the league competition but it does have the Champions League.”

Haaland has smashed all kinds of records since joining Manchester City and leads the scoring charts in the Premier League. If he does ever decide to leave Manchester City then he certainly will not lack for admirers.

Haaland has scored 27 Premier League goals this season, the most by a Man City player in a single campaign. Only two players have scored more in their debut season in the competition – Andy Cole (34 in 1993-94) and Kevin Phillips (30 in 1999-00)

The striker will be back in action with Manchester City on Saturday against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
