Manchester City enter the race for the signature of English midfielder Jude Bellingham.
It’s no secret that Manchester City are interested in Jude Bellingham, but Pep Guardiola knows he will have to battle Liverpool and Real Madrid for his signature this summer.
Borussia Dortmund are resigned to losing the 19-year-old and want between €100m-€150m (£89.8m-£134.7m) for his signature. The lofty valuation will price out a lot of clubs, but journalist Rudy Galetti recently revealed City have finally begun talks.
He told GiveMeSport: “We have to pay attention to Manchester City, who are in the race. They are starting talks with Borussia to go deeper into the situation of Bellingham. Everything is still to be decided and at the moment we are only just at the beginning of the race for Bellingham.”
It will be interesting to see where Bellingham ends up playing his football next season. One thing is for sure he won’t be an easy transfer for the club and the team will have to break the bank to acquire a 19-year-old who is already a star.
City have a good relationship with Dortmund, signing Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji last summer, so there shouldn’t be a problem with negotiations either.
Elsewhere, Arsenal have reportedly accelerated talks to extend Bukayo Saka’s contract amid interest from City.
Saka’s current contract was due to run out this summer, although the Gunners triggered an option to extend that for another 12 months. And according to talkSPORT, Mikel Arteta’s side have prioritised a new deal for the England international in a bid to fend off interest from the Etihad.
Much like Mac Allister, Saka has been pivotal in his side’s success this season. The winger has seven goals and seven assists in 20 Premier League appearances, with his side currently five points clear at the top of the table – although that lead can be cut to three points should City beat Tottenham on Sunday.
